Love and Violence: The Fusion or Eruption
I wrote this piece because I wanted to know how? I wanted to know why? How do people fall in love and then succumb to violence? Why do they stay and why do they go? How does it feel when your feelings fail you? Why aren’t words enough? Can love and violence both exist and coexist? What causes the fusion? What causes the eruption?
My attempt to answer these questions began when I was girl, flourished during an incredible undergraduate course, and blossomed when I was asked to write, produce and perform a solo show for my graduate thesis.
And now as the curtain goes up and down, I hope these questions can transfer into the minds of others who too may be intrigued by the “how’s” and “why’s” of domestic violence. Together we will find the answer. This piece is my portion.
